Following Abram Wilson’s BBQ, there has been something of a groundswell for his sweet potato and pecan pie recipes that were featured at the event.
Joe Rubay (seen nearby with Concord Police Chief David Livingston) writes: It was quite a pleasure to spend my Sunday afternoon with good friends and some good old southern cooking at the BBQ for District 15 Assembly Candidate Mayor Abram Wilson.
After both our local NFL teams went down in defeat I drove out the Rountree Ranch and was treated to some good southern cooking, some good old southern country music and chance to catch up with fellow supporters of Mayor Wilson.
The location was beautiful high atop a hill in the Tassajara Valley, the food was excellent and the Mayor in is gratitude to all his supporters shared his secret family recipe for pecan pie. Which I was able to walk home with!”
It was some killer pie. The creme fraiche, helps too. It’s hard to imagine anyone, including Joan Buchanan, could bake a pie any better than this.

A friend brought her signature sweet potato dish to a recent potluck and I swear. The sweet potato base was sweet and practically pureed with a bushel of pecans on top and with pieces mixed… it (me) was screaming for a pie crust and creme fraiche. Wilson’s Pecan Pie recipe is the bomb. I bet the sweet potato recipe is good too. Pecan Pie Paul should post a recipe from his site!
Its always a good time for pecan pie!
Instruct us, oh brilliant seer of mens’ hearts!
No… You just like Wilson and it shows in how you cover him.
I admit that I am powerless over Pecan Pie. One is too many. One hundred is not enough. If Joan has a recipe, BRING IT ON, and I will sing its praises as well.
Looks like Halfway to Concord is becoming the propaganda arm of Wilson for State Assembly.
