Will Sarah Palin withdraw from VP nomination?

by BGR on September 2, 2008

brits love sarah

The comment was made earlier here that the Left would go after Sarah Palin more viciously than it went after Clarence Thomas’s Supreme Court nomination. So far, the kook fringe lefties are already placing bets that Sarah Palin could likely pull a Thomas Eagleton, McGovern’s ill-fated 1972 VP pick who withdrew his nomination after 18 days. I don’t think so, but what do y’all think?

I hope she stays. Refutes the hatfull left and brings on new light to politics.
I as a veteran, protected the US Constitution. I hope she will to, more than some of the other politicians do.

first vote says not expected to resign PLUS that she SHOULD NOT resign, next choices indicate will and when with no opinion expressed — where the heck is SHOULD BUT WON’T or WILL BUT SHOULDN’T?! this is intellectually shoddy, non-representative of anything, apples and oranges. come on, get it together!

~ EDITOR REPLIES — 1. Suggestive porn name redacted; classy. 2. Shoddy? It took you this long to come up with that bluster?

Here is Marc Ambinder’s column for The Atlantic, from RNC convention about what we actually know and don’t know about Sarah Palin.

For the record, there is no evidence that daisies are pretty in the Summer, either.

I hope she stays. With a pick like that, I shudder to think what kind of a pick ole Mac might make for a Supreme Court justice. I met a law school student the other day that might be a good candidate for McCain.

McCain showed us his complete lack of judgement and concern for our country’s well-being with this pick. She stays…Dems win!

A lot of people supported Gray Davis, once, too, that doesn’t make them corrupt, does it? If Schwarzennegr allows a sales tax increase, he’ll lose some staunch supporters as well. So the whole what happened when argument is just another worn talking point. Please get more creative than from listening to Tom Brokaw rudely talking over keynotes (cause it’s all about you).

Also, should mention that she was, in fact, one of the founding members of Ted Steven’s PAC 527…”Ted Stevens Excellence in Service”…

Stevens, of course, was indicted in July 2008 on seven counts of corruption.

There’s taking on corruption for ya…

She actually was part of that corruption before she was against it. She supported the ill-fated bridge to nowhere during her 2006 campaign, when it was bringing her state $398 million in earmarks…once Congress withdrew the earmark…she was suddenly against it, using the very “bridge to nowhere” term she had previously found insulting…much to the chagrin of most Alaskans. Political, advantageous flip-flopping. In fact, she hired Ted Stevens lobbying firm to secure $27 million in earmarks herself. How is she any different from any of the others?

I appreciate that Palin took on a corrupt and inept state Republican old boy network including sitting governor, senator, congressman, attorney general, and party; we could use some of that in California if only we had any corrupt statewide Republican electeds. I guess we’ll just have to concentrate on inept party leaders, instead.

I just hope Palin isn’t averse to Kryptonite

Politics ain’t beanbag Sarah. I you get the chance to move to Washington just remember what Truman said. “if you want a friend in Washington get a dog.”

If you pull out the McCain Campaign will collapse!
