Contra Costa County is embarking on a design process to make the Pleasant Hill BART station area more pedestrian and bicycle friendly. There are two strategies to this project:

1-Make the station area more accessible by bike and foot by building a path making the station directly accessible from the area to the northeast of the station. The general project area can be viewed here.

2-Develop a signage and wayfinding system that will guide pedestrians and cyclists in and around the station area.

Contra Costa County, with a grant from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s Transportation for Livable Communities program has hired a consultant (M.I.G.) to guide this process. More information can be found by calling Steven Goetz at 925-335-1240 or by visiting the County Planning website.
