I have always found it disgusting when politicians use their children as their political props.
A little quote by their son or daughter (oh so sweet) asking me to vote for or send cash to their Mommy or Daddy so they can work for their future. What hogwash!
The latest in this bit of BS is having to watch the daughter of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin (Bristol), paraded around on television to talk about teen pregnancy and to endorse abstinence. It is kind of sad.
I can only imagine the conversation between Bristol and Momma Sarah after Bristol said on national television that abstinence in teenagers is unachievable. I can imagine how that conversation went, “if you and your son ever hope to live in the White House you better become the high princess of abstinence, Bristol!”
And so it is that we have to watch as Bristol and Baby are splashed all over the media talking about abstinence. Maybe she should also talk about the importance of sex education along with abstinence. Then I could give her more credibility, just as I did when she stated the first time that abstinence for teenagers is unattainable.
Of course, for politicians, it is all about the the packaging to sell the product to the voters. How sad when children are exploited in the process.
