is a perfect example of the dreamworld Hollywood types fall for and would have you believe. We mentioned this when the original cinematic portrayal of the Diaries first appeared.
How is it that Steven Soderburgh, in producing three movies about Che, missed the part that shows the firing squads that Che directed to kill tens of thousands of innocent peasants and small business owners in Cuba? How do you miss that part?
The truth is Che was a murderous thug, and so is Bill Ayers.
According to Larry Grathwohl, the only FBI informant able to infiltrate the group, “The Weather Underground was not an anti-war group. They saw themselves as part of an international revolution with connections in Cuba, China and North Vietnam. They believed they were going to be part of a revolution that would cause the collapse of the United States.
“Plans for the creation of camps for “re-educating” Americans―and the elimination of 25 million people―were discussed with the belief that protecting the NEW order from a counter-revolution justified wholesale murder.”
Grathwohl has first-hand eyewitness knowledge and saw up close that Ayers was not about ending the war, Ayers knew there were people-killing nails in the bombs he made, and neither Ayers—nor Che—should be idolized as heros. By anyone. Shame on Steven Soderburgh.
But the NY Times and Washington Post and “professional” journalists and the Hollywood producers will spin a whole different tune just to make themselves look like heros of the revolution while they make a buck.
