<p>In a final insult to working people, the Bush EPA is proposing taxing ranchers who own cows and pigs because when they pass gas they say it adds to global warming. If the Obama administration runs with this there could be a chance for the GOP to come out of the pig sty.</p>
<p>The proposal would require farms or ranches with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle, or 200 hogs to pay an annual fee of about $175 for each dairy cow, $87.50 per head of beef cattle, and $20 for each hog. These folks never met a tax they did not like! Nobody comes between Americans and their pork ribs or steak!</p>
<p>So read for yourself, and prepare for the <a href="http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081205/ap_on_bi_ge/farm_scene_cow_tax_2">mother of all food fights</a>! All hail the cow dung rebellion!</p>

<p>The Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association (www.hjta.org) has released its Legislative Report Card for 2007: state lawmakers from our area were rated as follows:  </p>
<p>- Senator Tom Torlakson = F<br />
- Assemblyman Mark DeSaulnier = F<br />
- Assemblywoman Loni Hancock = F<br />
- Assemblyman Guy Houston = A</p>
<p>The California Taxpayers Association (www.caltax.org), which has been around since 1926, recently issued its annual Cal-Tax Voting Record on the bills they considered most important. State lawmakers from our area took the same position advocation by CalTax in the following percentages:  </p>
<p>- Senator Tom Torlakson = 0%<br />
- Assemblyman Mark DeSaulnier = 17%<br />
- Assemblywoman Loni Hancock = 13%<br />
- Assemblyman Guy Houston = 100%</p>
