Abram Wilson and the San Ramon City Council don’t listen to citizen concerns, and have already made up their minds about turning San Ramon into Concord with plans for three 8-story commercial office buildings. Congratulations to Concord’s PR machine…I think. Helen Allen will be crowing about San Ramon copying Concord, you watch.
Actually, if San Ramon council really wanted to copy Concord they would hire expensive consultants to form a citizen task force to conduct a five year study and make recommendations that will be ignored by Council. But this sounds more like an early salvo in the AD-15 campaign, but let’s see how Wilson’s Assembly race opponent, Joan Buchanan, weighs in on local planning concerning commercial office space, and land use issues.

“The Mayor wants over 100 feet tall office buildings that are 8 stories in height. He and the City Council want to increase the traffic congestion in the intersections of Bolliger Canyon Rd. and Alcosta Blvd., Bollinger Canyon Road and Camino Ramon, and the on ramps and off ramps to Highway 680.”

The Trib also contends that, “Wilson and the City Council want to give away approximately 15 to 20 acres of city property in exchange for a small 3.5 acre parcel that is too small to house the City Hall, Police Department, Library, and Transit Center. The Mayor wants to increase the traffic hazards for people crossing Bollinger Canyon Rd. at the Iron Horse Trail. The City Council thinks this is the best thing since apple pie. Their taste buds are salivating so much that they refuse to even consider what the ultimate cost of a Downtown Center is going to cost the citizens of San Ramon.”

Some of postings at the Trib’ are from Doug Burr, publisher of Stop Signs in Windermere. Apparently San Ramon does not appreciate Doug’s petition drive to place some stop signs in tony Windermere (how gauche!). Sounds like my kind of blog.
