The Contra Costa Child Care Council invites the community to its 2nd Annual Children’s Art and Literacy Festival on Saturday, September 29, 2007, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The FREE family event will offer hands-on fun and live entertainment, including a Mother Goose appearance! Last year’s event attracted a crowd of more than 500 people. Join us for the outdoor Festival at the Child Care Council’s main office located at 1035 Detroit Avenue in Concord.

The Children’s Art and Literacy Festival will feature kid-oriented activities, including a puppet show, interactive storytelling in Spanish and English, art and book making, face painting, and live entertainment from pint-sized performers, including young Persian dancers from the Noisha Dance Academy. The Festival will also offer playful movement activities, such as Yoga for Kids, to engage children physically as they play and learn. Plus, there will be hundreds of FREE books and other giveaways from literacy and parenting tool kits to bookmarks and stickers for Festival participants. This is a family event for children of all ages.

Festival sponsors include Wells Fargo, Owens Financial/Owens Trust, and Standard Pacific Homes. KCBS-5 Anchor, Juliette Goodrich, will emcee from 12-1 p.m. The Children’s Art and Literacy Festival is about families coming together to learn through play and discover fun and engaging ways to teach young children to read and be creative.
