Attached see sample of letters sent to Pittsburg Police Chief Aaron Baker, Antioch Police Chief James Hyde, and Contra Costa County Sheriff Warren Rupf.

Supervisor Glover is asking the policing agencies in the 5th Supervisorial District to be on the look out for these vandals and to investigate the stealing of his signs.

Supervisor Glover asked that local website newspapers alert residents to be on the look out for vandals who obviously have a political motive behind their efforts. These signs cost thousands of dollars and have dozens of person-power hours in their posting. If you should have further questions, please contact Mary Jo Rossi at 925-768-7207.

I tend to consider candidate’s campaign signs as Tombstones of Democracy as they clearly illustrate how disconnected candidates and parties are from voters. That said, it’s obvious this is a homemade sign as you can see someone took the time to print out the 6-separate sheets used to brew this political speech.

So as Primary season gears up, send pictures of unique vernacular examples you find to editor@halfwaytoconcord.com, and we will publish what we can space permitting. Pictures of defaced signs, no matter how funny, will not be considered.
