Phillips to challenge Gioia seat

by BGR on July 24, 2009

Is West Contra Costa County better off than it was in 1998, 2002, or 2006? Mister Phillips doesn’t think so, and he’s betting Contra Costa voters in District 1 want something better. See the clip below as he announces his intention to challenge incumbent Supervisor John Gioia in 2010.

Dear Mister Phillips:

Contra Costa County needs a new face in the Board Room at 651 Pine Street, Martinez. We sincerely hope it is you. A long awaited change is due..John Gioia has been around for a while who is a “lean” Democrat and often wonder whose side he is on..so, please if you are the one – do us proud.

Mister Phillips – Your entire blog is filled with your thoughts and opinions. Every one has an opinion, but what are you going to DO? What actions are you taking now? Your slogan is, “West County, it’s time”. Time for what? Your blog and community meetings are simply more of the same. There is nothing new or refreshing about your ideas or attitude toward the community. Being an intelligent person does not qualify you to be a politician. Intelligence isn’t even a prerequisite (look at George W. Bush). Trying to make a name for yourself by suggesting a lot and doing nothing gives insight to the type of person you are. Your lack of integrity shows through everything you say and everything you are not doing. West County deserves better than anything you have to offer.

Does this mean that Mr. Mister, the cop and Obama are going to hang out and have a beer?
