Orinda City Council to meet as Passover begins

by Richard Colman on March 20, 2013 · 1 comment

when-is-passoverAs Jews all over the world mark the beginning of Passover, the Orinda City Council plans to hold a meeting. Passover is the Jewish holiday marking the Jews’ exodus from slavery in Egypt. At 4 P.M. on Monday, March 25, the Orinda City Council plans to hold a meeting.

While Passover officially begins at sundown (approximately 7:25 P.M.) on Monday, March 25, many Jews are often busy with preparations for the Seder, the traditional service and meal that accompanies Passover.

Is the Orinda City Council insensitive to Jews?

One would wonder if the city council would hold a meeting on Easter Sunday or Christmas Day.
