Create your own Obama art
January 12, 2009
Paste Magazine, a privately owned national music magazine, has launched Obamicon.Me. Visitors to Paste’s site can create their own version of artist Shepard Fairey’s cult phenomenon poster from the 2008 Presidential. Fairey’s poster, titled “Hope”, gained widespread acclaim during Barack Obama’s campaign for the Presidency.
Log on, create your account. Upload a photo, or take a snapshot from your web cam. Then adjust and save. Send to a friend. If you want to send them to me, I will post them.
Most recently, the Obama Inaugural Committee announced they are using a similar Shepard Fairey design for the official inauguration poster. Also, the National Portrait Gallery has decided to add Fairey’s original Hope print to its collection.

Got something to say?

I saw this reported on the CC Times two days after this posted. No wonder newspapers are going out of business to pay some schmuck to write this crap when you do it for free!
Talk about a day-and-a-half late and $50/hr short.
