Good job Oak. Not only is crime going through the roof but you have identified another growing problem in your city. So what does Oak do about it? They decide to look the other way and stop checkpoints! This is a reason to have MORE checkpoints, not less. Get these drivers off the streets and report them to ICE.

Well that’/s a no brainer. Harmful to Latino’s without a license or insurance. What the heck are they doing driving a car with a license or insurance. What about the thousands of lives they jepordize driving with a license or god forbid if they run over someone and have not insurance. Perhaps they could use less cops at the check point but if you are stupid enough to drink and drive I say you should get arrested. It does not matter if you are black, white, brown or yellow. Stay from behind the wheel of a car if you are drinking. As for the illegals that are not suppose to be here they can take them off too. What do other countries do when you are in their country illegally? They throw you behind in their jail. Let you sit and rot and then throw you out of the country. Fort his guy to think these tickets pad the coffers of the city is plain nuts. It doesn’t cover the wages, workman compensation, payroll taxes, health benefits of the police working the check point. There are not coffers to line. The city pays out more than they can possibly collect.

It should be stopped Its all for the wrong reasons Its too pad the coffers of the city and they could not care less who lives or dies. Stuides show more serious crimes happening at the same time all those cops are down there in one place . They could be of better use somewhere else not all in one spot. And I am not latino JIM
