According to Firedoglake, Progressives are trying to get 40 Congressional Critters to vote against any healthcare legislation that does not contain a public plan that is: Available nationwide, From day one, and Answerable to Congress and the voters. So far, California Congressman George Miller (CD-7) and Jerry McNerney (CD-11) are helping to stonewall any serious Healthcare Public Plan: Undecided (Miller), Absent (Tauscher), MIA (McNerney).
Perhaps the vaunted Democrats running for CD-10 in the (someday) special election would go on record if they would commit to such a whip count or go wobbly on healthcare like Miller or hide like McNerney (on this and war supplemental).

The Universal health Care Plan and the End to Iraq is the ONLY REASON Me and ALL my Family across the US and my friends VOTED for Barack Obama ! I have been made a FOOL of buy Blue Cross B.S. of Tennessee for many years ! When we did use it ONE TIME …my wife had Vulva cancer I ended up having to call the Doctor @ Home @ 9:30 PM and tell him I was bringing my wife over to his house ..so he could listen to her CRY after I paid $7500 all those years for HIGH PRICED HEALTH INSURENCE he would have to hear the CRIES of my WIFE and he finally 3 MONTHS Later gave me a DNC and found CANCER @ ! She never cried again ! And 2 weeks later ..BCBS called me @ Work and said they would NO LONGER COVER CANCER IN HER AGAIN ! SO IT WAS WORTH-LESS !!!

Yes, it is a photo of Miller, with his protege Mark DeSaulnier.
Sort of like Paul and Timothy.
This would be an excellent opportunity for Mark and other CD-10 candidates to declare whether they will commit to a robust healthcare public plan option outlined in the link at FDL or work behind the scenes to kill it like John Kerry’s suggestion to wait 10 years for some trigger.
Since George voted for Supplemental and is undecided about the Public Option, voters are curious where Mark really stands inre progressive proposals for healthcare and his relationship to Miller.
