
In a press release this morning, Concord Police Chief David Livingston, announced major endorsements for his 2010 campaign for Contra Costa County Sheriff. Incumbent Warren Rupf says he will step down at the end of his current term.
Danville, CA, OCTOBER 26, 2009: Chief Livingston proudly announces the following distinguished elected officials – current and retired — have joined his campaign with strong endorsements:
1. Richard “Dick” Rainey, Former Contra Costa Sheriff, State Senator and State Assembly Member.
2. Gary Yancey, Former Contra Costa County District Attorney.
3. Sue Rainey, Mayor Pro Tem, Walnut Creek. (Mayor Pro Tem Rainey is expected to assume the role of Mayor in December, 2009.)
4. Mike Doyle, Vice Mayor, City of Danville. (Vice Mayor Doyle is expected to assume the role of Mayor in December, 2009.)
Chief Livingston said this of his most recent endorsements: “Sheriff Dick Rainey, District Attorney Yancey, Mayor Pro Tem Sue Rainey and Vice Mayor Mike Doyle are all enthusiastically joining my campaign. I am honored to have their endorsements, their advice and their support as we move our exciting campaign forward. They each have their own record of achievement, tremendous community contacts and are all respected leaders. They join a growing list of officials from throughout the county who will help elect me as the next sheriff on June 8, 2010.”
