The Hospice of Contra Costa invites the public to attend one of its Tree of Lights ceremonies held throughout the county. Every light on each tree is symbolic of a life and shines in honor or memory of a friend or family member. The ceremonies feature music, poetry, talks by local dignitaries and the special moment when the tree is lit. Symbolic lights are $20 each and can be reserved by calling Hospice at 925-887-5678. Tree of Lights ceremonies are planned for the following locations:
- 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, John Muir Medical Center-Concord Campus, 2540 East St.
- 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, Clayton Station, at Kirker Pass and Clayton roads, Clayton.
- 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Morello Avenue, north of Arnold Drive, Martinez.
- 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, Children’s Tree, Oak Alley behind Va de Vi Restaurant, 1151 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Walnut Creek.
- 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, Civic Park, at North Broadway and Civic Drive, Walnut Creek.
5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, Gregory Lane near Cleaveland Road, Pleasant Hill.
