Health Care Reform has become a shell game. Which shell is hiding the real legislation that Congress is going to vote on?
Most of what the President tonite said in general terms anyone can support. Specifics of the legislation is another thing.
I think Obama was talking about what he would like to see, not what is in HR 3200 currently being marked up in committee. Unless Obama actually writes legislation that enacts what he talked about last nite, what we are going to get is HR 3200. Then Obama can just shrug his shoulders and say it wasn’t his bill but it’s good enough.
So Obama hides behind soporific generalities and lets Nancy Pelosi do the short knife work. Brilliant. He’s got people focusing on his speech instead of what actually is coming out of the Energy & Commerce committee.
