Brad Goehring, Republican candidate for California’s sprawling 11th Congressional district, hammered two-time incumbent, Democrat backbencher Jerry McNerney, for being “soft on terrorism” and blindly following the Obama administration in support of trying terrorists in civilian courts and closing Guantanamo.
San Joaquin County wine grape grower and businessman Brad Goehring today took on the Obama Administration over their extremist policies and called out Congressman Jerry McNerney for his silent support of these efforts. McNerney draws a large amount of funding for his campaign from Berkeley, California and radical leftist extremists on the internet such as MoveOn.Org.
“This administration is so committed to supporting a leftist ideology they are willing to jeopardize American security to do it,” said Goehring. “If ever there was a need for a check and balance to an administration this is it. The only check Jerry McNerney provides to this out of control White House is to check in every morning for his marching orders. I will go to Washington to be an independent voice to hold the executive branch accountable.”
Goehring also supported efforts by members of the House to pass legislation to take funds away from the Justice Department for civilian trials.
“I’m not surprised that Jerry McNerney is nowhere to be found as a co-sponsor of that legislation,” continued Goehring. “It’s obvious Jerry is more concerned with representing Nancy Pelosi and leftist bloggers than in representing his district on this issue. From spending to government takeovers of healthcare to coddling terrorists, Jerry McNerney is not even close to representing the views of the majority of this district.”
Goehring has received endorsements from Contra Costa Sheriff Warren Rupf, San Joaquin Sheriff Steve Moore, San Joaquin Supervisors Leroy Ornellas and Ken Vogel, Manteca Mayor Willie Weatherford and local Assemblyman Bill Berryhill along with a large number of local council members on both sides of the district. Goehring has also received the endorsement of the powerful San Joaquin County Farm Bureau, a group that did not endorse the Republican nominee in the last election.

Oh but you do rile up this liberal retired reporter. “Soft on terrorism”? Hey who cares whether tried as civilians or military prisoners. Try ‘em, convict ‘em, shoot ‘em like they want to shoot us. Nuff said?
~ EDITOR AGREES — Maybe implement a no-prisoner policy as part of combat rules and drone attacks. That would solve the Guantanamo and civilian courts issues now wouldn’t it.
Such an no-foolin-around approach would also speak volumes to potential combatants thinking there are no consequences.
Please help end the DADT policy in the military. If for no other reason we may be able to get along WITHOUT a draft!.with more young people enlisting without having to declare sexual preference.
There is no more reason for concern over Gays serving with hetrosexual troops than having men and women (opposite sex) serving together. The only complaint I have heard is when a “straight” troop rebuffs advances from one of the OPPOSITE sex they are labeled “gay”.!!!
