I thought for fun I would go to the Republican National Committee (RNC) website. For all the money the RNC milks from the few believers left in the Republican party you would think the web site would look better.
But what really caught my eye was the 2009 Official RNC Calendar ($25). They call it a ”stirring tribute to our nation’s 43rd Presidency.” Wow, just think while the “Age of Obama” is unfolding I can be reminded of the glory years of the Bush Presidency.
Lets see pictures of W in better days with Alberto Gonzales? How about a picture of W flying over New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina? Or W speaking in front of the mission accomplished sign on that aircraft carrier.
It is going to be a deep hole Republicans have to dig themselves out of. What most GOP loyalists don’t understand is how bankrupt they are. It is like they are trying to sell Hummers when gasoline is $5.00 a gallon. The sooner the GOP puts all things Bush behind them (that includes brother Jeb Bush too) the sooner they will become a viable national party again.

admin, I’m not sure why you made the “ADD” comment. Sounds as though you’re trying to be offensive.
You say, “These debates are pointless.”
I say, “Sounds kinda odd, coming from someone who has their own blog.” (Which I enjoy very much so.)
You say, “Stick to local issues instead of wasting time on topics you have no special knowledge of or control over.”
I say, “Take a look at the title of your story sir… George W. Bush 2009 Calendar. In which you write about the “Republican NATIONAL Committee.” Are these the local issues that you speak of? Do you have any “special knowledge” or “control over” the RNC Website, or anything else covered in your story? I didn’t see anybody call your story, or your choice of topics, “pointless.”
Besides… I’m all about “local issues!” But that doesn’t mean I only focus on local politics. We all have a role to play in regards to the state/national level too.
What got you all upset anyways? Was it because “Informed Voter” thought that George W. Bush has made us safer, and I disagreed?
~ EDITOR RESPONDS — Walter, don’t have a cow. It was a send up. Having a bit of fun. Is there no humor in the GOP, anymore? The calendar piece just took my breath away and I thought it was funny. I believe Soccer Mom put me onto that one.
it is hard not to comment on National issues when you are talking about the President of the United States. In a weird way I will miss our National Boob!
~ EDITOR REPLIES — Unlike their American counterparts, at least Iraqi journalists have shoes and know what to do with them.
I swear not only do all conservatives have ADD but they are also carriers.
These debates are pointless. Stick to local issues instead of wasting time on topics you have no special knowledge of or control over. Set your pick to the hard black coal face of the tough local issues in our own back yards!

Informed Voter,
You say, “Bush is going to look much better than the left wing press portrayed him.”
Bush has been a complete disgrace to the office of President! He has failed to live up to his oath of office to “protect & defend” the Constitution! He has ignored the Republican Party Platform and broken his campaign promises to the people, time and time again. That’s coming from a fellow Republican, not the “left wing press.”
You say, “Hey folks he wasn’t perfect, far from it, but I thank God everyday that he kept our country free from attack for 7 years. That is huge in my book.”
Bush has not made you any safer! Being an “Informed Voter” you should know better than that, my friend. On 9-11 other countries’ borders, and shores were more secure than ours. Even now, the border between North and South Korea (and numerous other countries for that matter) are more secure than that of the U.S./Mexico border. Do you feel safer? Is there less of a chance that we could be attacked now? I don’t think so.
Having our troops in other countries, policing the world does not make us safer in the United States! And if you’re buying the “we’re bringing the Iraqi people freedom” crap… Who says that I, or you should have to pay for their freedom? Has anybody ever stopped to consider if these people even deserve “freedom?” Have they lived up to what is required to have “freedom?” Does it make sense that we have been building schools in Iraq, while our schools at home are being shut-down? Is it fair to have the tax-payer pay to blow-up an Iraqi bridge, and pay to re-build it, while our bridges are falling down at home? I say, “Hell NO!” Let other countries deal with their own problems… we have enough to worry about ourselves.
Think about this… If Canada (a friend of the U.S.) put troops on American streets, and they started setting up check-points, kicking in doors, enforcing curfews and killing American people, along with my neighbors, my friends and my family because we were having our rights and freedoms taken away by, lets say, the Bush Administration, or the USA Patriot Act… I’d be taking aim at them from my apartment window… and I’m no supporter of the Bush Administration, or of the unconstitutional USA Patriot Act!
By the time we have had 4 years of “The One” my guess is Bush is going to look much better that the left wing press portrayed him. Hey folks he wasn’t perfect, far from it, but I thank God everyday that he kept our country free from attack for 7 years. That is huge in my book. Merry Christmas!!!!
Thanks Freak! I’ve met several of the newly elected Contra Costa members, and they are a great bunch of people. I thought that Arne Simonson was going to make a run for Chair? Have you heard anything about that? From what I’ve seen him post on other blogs, he seems to be a real conservative.
After reviewing the Smart Voter website, I noticed that Bill (admin), and several other conservatives from Contra Costa ran for the committee, but didn’t win seats. If there are attempts being made to seat other candidates that didn’t win seats (Poulos), there must be a few vacancies on the committee. You, Bill, and others should try to get appointed to fill those vacancies, or become Alternates. I may be able to help out in doing so. The Organizational Meeting will be here soon. Let me know if you are interested.
Walter you are soooooo right!! Without the stupidity of Bush there would be know revolution. The RINO’s would not be running scared. I have heard that the Contra Costa GOP is using extra parlamentary procedures to keep Gregg Poulos the unelected leader as the leader of the CCGOP. The reason they are doing this is they are scared of Ron Paul supporters coming over and staging an insurgent take over as they have in Alameda!! You have them scared buddy!! You are the Vanguard of the revolution!!
I’d like to thank George W. Bush for damn near killing the Republican Party! We have much work to do in repairing the image of the GOP before “the people” will trust us again!
I can only hope that we are able to make it through the next four years to have the chance to do so!
Maybe they will have pictures of that Iraqi Journalist throwing his shoes at Bush!!
Soccor Mom you are the best!! They could even make a version with our local republican leaders, acivists and candidates past and present!! Just don’t view it on a full stomach!!
Hey thanks for this gift tip! There are so many people to shop for, especially those people who already have everything. What a lovely, meaningful gift this will be for all those people who are really special to me. Do you think Dick Cheney has a calendar? Or what about the stars of the GOP? Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, John McCain. Hmm. What about those guys in swim suits? But you know who’d look great on the cover of the GOP swimsuit calendar? Governor Sarah “Caribou Barbie” Palin.
