Project Second Chance Receives Support from Concord Diablo Rotary

This program for adult literacy has been serving Contra Costa County for over 25 years. Its regular staff of six full and part time works with volunteers to serve about 150 clients who are taught how to read. Volunteers are trained by the staff to teach the clients and it is asked that the volunteers commit for a one year assignment. Overall coordination occurs out of the Contra Costal County Library at 1750 Oak Park Blvd, Pleasnat Hill, CA (925 927-3250)

As part of its Community Support operations, Concord Diablo Rotary provided the project with over 20 special Dictionaries geared to new readers. Receiving the dictionaries was Laura Seaholm, the Program Manager who can also direct and assist those interested in volunteering.
