The Mark DeSaulnier for Congress campaign released its first TV ad of the congressional race today. The ad touts DeSaulnier’s focus on passing universal health care when he is in Congress, making health care more affordable and accessible for all Americans.
PLEASE READ THE HEALTH CARE LEGISLATION, MARK, AND TELL US HOW WE CAN PAY FOR IT WITH OUT BANKRUPTCY

If the lack of health care for any of his former employees is any indication, Mark, besides becoming Nancy Pelosi’s Cabana Boy, will be just another untouchable Congressional Lord with his gold-plated pension and health care, who will talk the talk but not walk the walk.
To the Editor:
The deceptive television commerical about Mark DeSaulnier does not tell viewers that DeSaulnier, if he supports the current House of Representatives plan for health care, will be causing unemployment levels — levels that are already too high — to rise
The House seeks to achieve universal health-insurance coverage by redistributing income. High earners will subsidize low earners. High earners will be paying more in taxes instead of investing in companies that promise new jobs.
The House plan to will push marginal tax rates taxes for high-income Californians to more than 50%. Will these Californians move out of state, taking their money with them?
The House plan will require small businesses that do not provide health insurance to pay 8 percent of payroll to the federal government. Thus, a firm with a $2 million annual payroll could pay $160,000 to the government.
California’s official unemployment rate is now 11.6 percent and the unofficial rate is 20% .
Taxing employers more heavily will do nothing to create jobs.
