In its recent report on County Employee Evaluation and Recognition programs, (#1214) the Contra Costa Grand Jury (page 4) praised the Clerk-Recorder and Elections Department as one of the only County Departments that had put such a program in place years ago.
County Clerk/Recorder Steve Weir’s department has been recognized widely by professional organizations for its operations and continuing progress for improving processes and performance.
The Grand Jury notes some other (nameless) departments have worked toward implementation of evaluation and recognition programs for employees’ others not so much, in fact employees in some County departments don’t even know such a process exists…or should.
