Citing development concerns, the Livermore Independent, endorsed Democrat Joan Buchanan for the 15th District Assembly seat to be vacated by termed out Republican, Guy Houston. According to the editorial, “The 15th District assembly member will be a player in the North Livermore issue. Buchanan is fully committed to urban growth boundaries and to the principles of Alameda County Measure D (2000) and the Livermore urban growth boundary initiative (2002). Moreover, she supports the acquisition of recycled water for North Livermore agriculture.” The Independent said, “Abram Wilson is by and large pro-developer on issues like this. As mayor, he has been a force[d] to open up rural lands to urbanization.”

Look at the the comercial Wilson just put out. Does he have a tin ear or what?
Why not Buchanan?????
Please pay attention. She comes off as a budget cutter in her sham commercial on TV. Buchanan is going to be relevant only in so far as she raises taxes.
$210 Billion for universal healthcare to start.
Questionable School Board leadership
Will be a tool of Speaker Bass
Do Joan’s multimillionaire neighbors living in Alamo and other luxury gated communities really understand what she will cost them in having their taxes increased by more than 20 percent?
Joan Buchanan is a formidable candidate. She is going to give Wilson all he can handle.
The district keeps electing Republicans to Sacramento. But what do they get done? The only time they are relavent is at budget time. So the what do they do the rest of the time? Wall paper the office? Raise money?
I know the Republicans who have been elected in the past from this seat have been champions of Republican values. But they have also been ignored.
What would happen if the 15th sent a politician who was part of the majority party. Would we have a legislator who was more relavent? Would the majority party have to pay attention to legislators from swing districts? As the republican party continues to shrink in California it is a question worth asking. Why not Buchanan? If the district is going to swing away from the GOP this is the year it could happen.
I really think both candidates for this seat are excellent. You can’t go wrong voting for either one.
