With roughly three-fourths of the country calling for accountability in monetary policy, Republicans in Alameda County and Sonoma County are seeking to make “Audit the Fed” an official party position.

In a letter dated September 1, 2009, recently elected ACRP Chairman, Jerry Salcido, along with Sonoma County GOP Chairman Michael Erickson, proposed a resolution in support of H.R 1207 and S. 604 for review by the California Republican Party. The resolution will be considered at the Fall Convention held September 25-27th at the Renaissance Esmeralda Hotel in Indian Wells. The state resolution is almost identical to the resolution passed in Alameda County, Sonoma County, and Contra Costa County earlier this year.

The fate of the proposal will be determined by the Resolutions Committee which has it’s membership hand-picked by California GOP Chairman, Ron Nehring. Although every Republican in the House and nearly half the Republicans in the Senate have co-sponsored H.R 1207 and S. 604, it remains to be seen whether the California GOP leadership will resist taking a position on federal legislation.

If you support the H.R 1207 resolution effort, contact Chairman Ron Nehring and express your support at:

If you are a California Republican Party delegate, or a Member of a Republican organization within the State and would like to support the proposed resolution and join our list of co-sponsors along with Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, CRA President Mike Spence, RLCCA Chairman Matthew Heath and many others please contact me at: walter@alamedagop.org

Special thanks goes out to all of our allies that have thrown their support behind this resolution. There is a very good chance that it will pass at the convention.

We would like to extend an open invite to our friends from the Contra Costa GOP to join forces with us, yet again, in support of this important legislation and our resolution.

Now is the time for the CAGOP to get behind this very Republican resolution. I hope the delegates will recognize the importance of supporting measures which further fiscal responsibility.
