The Monument Crisis Center will be holding its annual art show Thursday, October 8, from 5 to 8 PM in its Concord facility. The art will remain on display until 5:00 PM, October 9.

The show will feature the art of local artists from various backgrounds ranging from high school students to senior citizens. Some participants will be renowned artists while others will be beginners. The show will include paintings, photography, digital art, etc.

A local artist will provide charcoal portraits for visitors and activities will be provided for the children. Although the art show is free, donations will be accepted at the door.

The Monument Crisis Center is a non-profit organization in Concord that provides monthly food assistance to families and seniors to reduce the change that a family will face hunger and malnutrition because they must meet obligations for rent, medical care, or other expenses. In addition to food distribution programs, it provides free English classes, tutoring to elementary and middle school students, a youth leadership board, community workshops, nutrition education, and a senior program.

Last year, Monument Crisis Center assisted more than 66,000 people, and this year the numbers are growing as the need is greater.

This one of a kind annual event for the Bay Area is the only art show where you can buy art from local artists and help thousands of families and individuals at the same time.
