The reshaping of the GOP in California has begun as Constitutional Republicans report that incumbent Committee person, Karen Wind, the former Treasurer, was elected the new Chairperson of the Alameda Republican Party. Wind succeeds Paul Cummings.

County Republicans packed the house for the biennial Organizational Meeting in San Leandro, just south of Oakland, to seat the newly elected members on the Central Committee. The substantial group of Republicans, young and old, took an oath to “support and defend” the U.S. Constitution on Tuesday night. Spirits were positive and the meeting went smoothly as members approved a new set of bylaws and elected experienced and energetic new leadership to head the committee.

The County Party has taken the first steps in rebounding from the November election and redefining itself as the Party of limited government. Committee members made an effort to look towards the future as preparations were made to aid Republican campaigns for Governor and U.S. Senate, as well as local contests, in the upcoming 2010 election.

As one of the newly elected committee members said, “We had an exemplary meeting tonight. This shows what can be accomplished when good people work together to get things done.” Another said we’re “Ready for a Republican revolution in Alameda County!”

For those who haven’t heard already, former (do-nothing) Chairman Paul Cummings has decided to continue his counter-productive lawsuit and file an appeal contesting the Court’s ruling. He is being aided by the California Republican Party and their legal counsel.

At the March 17th monthly meeting, the Alameda County GOP passed a Resolution calling for Cummings to drop his lawsuit once and for all. Several other non-defendant volunteers, who were in attendance at the meeting offered $1400 in contributions to the Alameda County GOP if Cummings dropped the appeal. One other participant offered Cummings a personal steak dinner for added incentive. The donors agreed that the contributions would go to the defendants’ legal defense fund if Cummings went against the wishes of the Party. Cummings and one other Member were the only “no” votes against the Resolution ( 31-2 vote count).

At this point, I don’t believe that Cummings intends to drop the lawuit, as he wishes for nothing more than to “save-face” regarding this matter. He is also a pawn which is being used by the CRP leadership to resist volunteers that may be a threat to the business as usual that the CRP leadership enjoys so much!

Get ready for the final show-down… ding… ding!

Walter,

Or create a new fighting conservative base from the ashes of the Frauds in the CRP leadership and the RINOS.

Comrade,

Thanks for the kind words Freak! With our friends in Contra Costa, Santa Clara, Sonoma and L.A. we can start building a strong foundation of new constitutional Republicans, and winning back the support of the conservative base.
