I have a big problem with STAND. They use false facts (lies) and debunked “statistics” in their promotional material, conferences, on their website and in news stories. They always use male terms to describe perpetrators and female terms to describe victims.

Studies show females are just as likely to initiate partner violence as men. Some studies show them doing it most often, especially with younger females. http://www.mediaradar.org And these attacks are not retaliatory. Even when confronted with the facts, STAND does nothing.

The reason this is happening is because they don’t want to share VAWA funds. Friends of mine took a dv shelter to court for not helping fathers. They won in the CA Supreme Court of appeals, Sacramento, in December 2008. They have proven that the need exists.

How did the shelters and agencies like STAND react? Did they want to help these victims, no matter their gender? No! They were openly happy they didn’t have to copy what they offer women, that they could offer less services to them.

It disgusts me that STAND has wormed itself into the welfare dept. Every single applicant sees their material. How can this misandry be legal and govt funded??? VAWA! The Violence Against Women Act is unconstitutional.

I suggest everyone BOYCOTT STAND until they stop their practice of misandry.
