Below see wrap up from Lisa Vorderbrueggen, Moderator of the CD-10 Candidates Forum, sponsored by League of Women Voters, and hosted by St Mary’s College in Moraga. Allen Payton, a Republican from Antioch, also adds his analysis on the evening, in a separate clip. See live blog of event typos and all!

My thoughts. Anthony Woods talked well but had limited range on topics. Adriel Hampton is the only true progressive in the race. It boils down to Buchanan, Garamendi, and DeSaulnier as “establishment” candidates.
Buchanan got caught with a question concerning what was one issue on which she would break with her party. She was a deer in the headlights with a good 30 seconds of silence and some tittering from audience before she got her mouth to start moving with platitudes before she found her feet just as time expired
Chris Bunch was as or more articulate than David Harmer, who talked like a lawyer, outlining four-point proposals that did not stack up well against the one-minute format. Bunch had more punch in most of his answers and closing.

Alan Payton before long will be the King of East Contra Costa. The stage is set for a great come back!!
One suggestion Alan…. Slow down a little on your answers.
Looks like I jumped the gun when I wrote, “Maybe next time we can ask the candidates a few questions on video after the debate concludes.”
Just noticed the “Bunch on education” video. I should have known that you were on top of it Bill. My mistake.
~ EDITOR SUGGEST — Thanks. I JUST ADDED SLIDE SHOW AT BOTTOM. I took those with my 3GS. Sorry about the muffled sound toward the end of Allen’s clip. Just getting the hang of it. Will try to edit better next time. But overproduced video is not what we are looking for.
That said. ANY CANDIDATE OR VOTER can upload a short clip to youtube and send me the url of the clip and we will try to get it into the rotation. BTW. There are five clips there at a time that appear randomly with each page load. Enjoy.
Good breakdown Allen.
Nice touch with the video recaps Bill. Maybe next time we can ask the candidates a few questions on video after the debate concludes.
Over 500 people in attendence is a great turn-out! Hats off to those who made it happen.
